Dr. Pesavento has been in practice for over 25 years, graduating with high academic honors and a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from University of Miami School of Medicine, Dept of Physical Therapy and then a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. Her undergraduate degree was a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology from Lehigh University.

For many years Dr. Pesavento has exclusively worked on pelvic, low back, hip and abdominal issues, although her early roots were in orthopedics and biomechanics. Her specialty training has included: pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence (urinary and fecal), pelvic organ prolapse, constipation, chronic pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome, overactive bladder, levator ani syndrome, pudendal nerve entrapment and neuralgia, coccydynia, dyspareunia (pain with intercourse), vaginismus, post-operative pain and scarring (hysterectomy, oopherectomy, episiotomy, cesarean or c-section, etc.), pregnancy/postpartum management, and vulvovaginal disease (ie. vulvodynia, lichen sclerosis/ planus, vestibulodynia). Her background in biomechanics and orthopedics has proven to be a perfect complement to these women’s health conditions as most, if not all of them, coexist with other musculoskeletal issues, such as low back and hip pain and dysfunction, and improper pelvic alignment.

Dr. Pesavento was one of the country's first practitioners to have the distinction of being a Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioners Certified (PRPC) clinical specialists and likewise was certified early on in Certified Manual Trigger Point Therapy and Dry Needling. She stays very active in education, not only taking extensive continuing education for her own knowledge, but also loves teaching and has served as Adjunct Faculty at Marymount University's Department of Physical Therapy and a Teaching Assistant for years for the renowned Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.
