Suzy Quix

I work with individuals, couples and families. I often combine Somatic Experiencing with individual or systemic therapy. The extent to which I use Somatic Therapy during the sessions depends on the wishes and needs of each individual client.

My background. Initially, I obtained a Master's degree in law (University of Leiden) and worked for several business and governmental organizations. Later on, I studied clinical psychological science at the University of Amsterdam (UVA) and, beginning in 1997, started working for various mental health support agencies. Here I treated clients individually and with their families, and I was part of a team with psychiatrists, fellow psychologists, and psychiatric nurses. In 2002 I started my private practice helping couples, individuals, and families. I treated individuals, couples, and families from various cultures with a wide range of problems.
After obtaining my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, I completed a 4 year post-masters licensing program in Psychotherapy (RINO) and got licensed by the Dutch government (BIG). In this program, I received training and supervision in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, client centered psychotherapy and EMDR. I also received training in body oriented psychotherapy. During this period and after I also completed a 3 year post-graduate program in couples-and familytherapy (ISOOH; Drs Rick Pluut).
