I am a Ph.D. neuropsychologist and licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in Fair Haven, New Jersey. I completed my Somatic Experiencing Practitioner training in 2006 with Peter Levine and have continued my training with Diane Poole-Heller, Nancy Napier, Raja Selvam, Maggie Kline, Kathy Kain, Dave Berger and others. I am certified in Touch Skills Training with Kathy Kain and in Bodywork and Somatic Education for trauma therapists with Dave Berger. My website is www.DrLoPresti.com. The title is: A Ritual for Resolving Chronic, Habitual, and Pathological Implicit Memory and Emotional Disorders, including Grief and Trauma.
My personal and professional life's work has been focused on assisting in the healing of trauma, first in my family of origin then later as a professional. My initial clinical work was with children; now I work with older children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I have at least one therapy or support group going all the time. I have written a newsletter for many years on ADD/ADHD. Past issues are on my website. I have a number of certifications and trainings: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Substance Abuse, Hypnotherapy, BrainSpotting, NLP, Heart Math, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Imago Relationship Therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Energy Healing, EFT, TFT, Trauma Outreach, Reiki, Reconnection, Interpersonal Neurobiology and others. I teach Mindfulness Meditation to my groups and to most of my clients. I practice mindfulness, Tai Chi, and QiGong daily as I have for 35 years.
My approach to healing is that of an assistant to the inherent healing potential in all beings. I have specialized in learning how that healing system works in the body, brain, and in relationships. I know the effects of having healed many traumas, and the freedom, wholeness, and peace that comes with the healing of trauma. I love having the opportunity to assist others in their healing process.
