I currently see clients in-person and over Zoom. My SE work is informed by twenty-five years of teaching and practicing yoga, my years in clincial psychotherapy private practice, dance and movement training, as well as by working as a yoga therapist and licensed Marriage Family Therapist. For over a decade, I have been the movement specialist at a Chronic Pain clinic in the Bay Area helping clients heal from work related injuies and medical trauma using the body, breath and mind as the primary healer. I am an adjunct faculty member in the Somatic Psychology program at the California Institute of Integral Studies where I teach and mentor up and coming somatic students and therapists.
My own emobodied practices and training include Authentic Movement, Drama Therapy, Play Therapy ( for children) Body Mind Centering ( BMC), Yamuna Body Rolling, TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises). I hold a graduate degree in Psychology/drama therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a B.A. from Wesleyan Univerisity. I love working with adults, couples, parents and children of all ages. I'm parent to a school aged child and bring the parenting lens to my work with familes.
My professional work bridges depth psychotherapy (MFT) with body psychotherapy, yoga and mindfulness. I'm passionate about helping people live embodied, joyful lives and hold a centered, safe, compassionate space in which to help clients work through developmental or shock trauma as well as relationship /body/career/ parenting/family system issues. Using the SE lens and the SE tools, the sessions focus on awareness and regulation/tracking of the nervous system and arousal levels through breathing, image, movement, body sensations, dialogue, feelings and when apporpriate, touch. I work in a spacious studio/office space where we can move freely or sit or rest comfortably with support. I also hold Zoom sessions online. MFT, SEP, CYT
