Joy Herman

Joy is a warm and compassionate Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). She works from a relational framework, with the therapeutic relationship being integral to feeling safe and allowing us to do deeper reflection and healing. Joy aims to create a safe space in therapy for reflection and processing. With over fifteen years’ experience as a social worker, working with a range of clients and in a range of settings she is experienced with the most complex presentations. She has worked in the homelessness, mental health and in the criminal justice system. Joy is passionate about trauma processing in a safe and contained way. She has a special interest in attachment, relational and developmental trauma.
