Brandy Vanderheiden

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's in Counseling Psychology from JFK University, where I specialized in a blend of Somatic and Transpersonal psychology.
Working together, our first steps are about cultivating curiosity, stabilizing difficult symptoms, and then gently working towards integration and ultimately more freedom. I have found the most potent way to support healing is with a combination of psychotherapy and SE Touchwork (Kathy Kain). This combination helps build your body's capacity to self-regulate which helps reduce symptoms of stress and trauma. My special interest is in early (pre/perinatal) trauma and its impact on future ability to manage stress and to be in relationships with people. I received regular mentoring with Stephen Terrell for more than 6 years. I see children on a case by case basis, based on whether I think I can help. Although I do not take insurance, I can accept HSA/MSA and am happy to provide a super bill for you to submit to your insurance. MFT, SEP
