Bobby M Newell

Bobby Newell is a Clinical Social Worker specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Somatic Experiencing Therapy. With over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist, and as a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, she is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are reducing depressive symptoms, developing coping skills for anxiety, eliminating self harming behaviors, and using mindfulness techniques to reduce stress during life adjustments. Bobby Newell is an experienced dialectical behavior therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide skills coaching and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complimentary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. She is trained in Somatic Experiencing and, in conjunction with Somatic, has completed her training in Polyvagal through the PolyVagal Institute. She is also trained in using the Safe and Sound Protocol that works hand in hand with Polyvagal Theory. Her interest in attachment work has her completing her DARe certification as well. Bobby has also completed an Intensive Collaborative Divorce Training and is a skilled Collaborative Divorce Coach.
