I believe in the mind-body-spirit connection. Chronic stress and trauma affect our health, however our body has an innate capacity to heal when given the right support.
Emotionally, stress and trauma may lead to feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, loneliness, sadness or anger. Physically, it may result in chronic fatigue, pain, digestive issues and/or other symptoms that doctors are baffled by. Stress and trauma may also affect behaviors, for instance, living a life of people-pleasing, perfectionism and being who you think others want you to be. Moreover, if you are an empath or highly sensitive person, it may affect you differently. As a Person of Colour (POC), I am also very aware of the impact of racial trauma.
