Ann M Matney

Ann is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) practicing in Bozeman, MT. Originally trained at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute (DIRI) in Boulder, CO, Ann pursued her understanding of embodiment and presence with clients in her Rolfing practice for 15 years. Ann then started her training to become a mental health therapist, graduating in 2018, at which point she initiated the Somatic Experiencing training through Somatic Experiencing International. Ann has now completed the Somatic Experiencing Training but she also studies and utilizes Internal Family Systems therapy and Sensorimotor psychotherapy. Using these modalities, Ann works with clients who have experienced the mood altering effects of trauma and dissociation, helping them to find greater embodiment and a more continuous experience of self. Ann prefers to work in-person because she finds the somatic approaches more effective when they are in-person. Core to the mission of Ann's practice is accessibility, and therefore Ann provides medical billing services and is in network with all the major private insurances, Montana Medicaid and Tricare/TriWest/VAChamp.
