I am a general physician who after being on her healing journey and speaking to many trauma survivors/victims discovered the power of healing the body and spirit for better mental and emotional well-being.
I always start with getting a good understanding of the issues a client is dealing with and where they are coming from. My approach to healing is collaborative and holistic in which I use various trauma-informed somatic techniques (yoga, breathwork, TRE, dance, etc) and timely referrals to other practitioners based on the client's needs. I have experience working with women who have been survivors/ victims of domestic abuse and IPV. I am passionate about working with persons of color who feel that the Western way of healing failed them. My work mainly focuses on decolonizing mental health care and ackwledging the systemic failures to decenter it away from the dominant White, capitalistic, patriarchal, gender-binary narrative so people with a history of being marginalized and oppressed find healing, meaning, and connection through their culturally affirming practices. My ethnic identity is South Asian.
