Phil Tavolacci graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ithaca College in 1994 with a BS in Exercise Science and then earned his MSPT from Virginia Commonwealth University (Medical College of Virginia) in 1998. Prior to opening TAVO Total Health, Phil worked in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, a busy outpatient sports medicine clinic, and then, immediately prior to starting his own clinic, directed a small outpatient clinic for a short while. Although Phil enjoys treating all issues and ailments, he is especially passionate about helping people with complex chronic issues that require a blend of his intuitive and technical skills.



Phil's primary treatment modality is the John F. Barnes' Myofascial Release Approach. In 2005, when Phil's own complex chronic pain began to resolve rapidly via MFR, he knew he was meant to bring this remarkable modality to his clients at his new clinic! Phil has taken all of the courses offered in John Barnes' curriculum and loves teaching patients how to become their own therapist. Phil is constantly taking his knowledge and skills to the next level via varied continuing education coursework, transformational lifework (including a first-ever Vision Quest. in the summer of 2011), and a belief that "there is always another piece of the puzzle and layer of the onion."



Outside of treating patients and running his clinic, Phil enjoys travel, reading, drawing and other creative pursuits. In 2013, he published his first book, What's In Your Web?: Stories of Fascial Freedom, available on Amazon.
