As a licensed PT since 1997, I was becoming somewhat jaded in the traditional PT approach to treating pain. Thankfully, I found MFR in 2005 and have been actively studying and practicing this technique ever since. The John Barnes' MFR approach focuses on fascial restrictions as the predominant source of much musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Appreciating the profound significance of this tissue completely changed my understanding of its role in the common symptoms I was treating in my patients. And the proof was in the pudding. Even as a beginner, I could appreciate the differences the work was making in my effectiveness with patients. After 20 years I feel like I am able to utilize the best from both worlds to bring patients honest advice and expert hands-on care.
